WFMJ reports that Columbiana has imposed a Canada geese feeding ban at the city’s park.
Earlier this year, Mill Creek MetroPark decided to euthanize Canada geese within in the park’s boundaries.
Signs have been posted to notify residents to not feed the geese, but that hasn’t been effective. Now that the ban is official, If it is violated, a person will receive a warning, but if the offense is repeated, it will carry a penalty of $150. Any offenses after that will cost $500, or potentially 60 days in jail.
