Buckeye Shepherds Symposium set

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Sheep Improvement Association will be holding its annual Buckeye Shepherds Symposium Dec. 11 at The Ohio State University Marion Campus.

Business. The annual meeting of the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association will also be conducted during the Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium.
Come and listen to several experts in the sheep industry share information about issues from nurturing a vet/client relationship, rules and regulations for direct marketing, government programs for the sheep producer and utilizing USDA-FSA programs to improve the bottom line.
Highlights. Stan Potratz, founder of Premier Sheep Supplies, will lead the group into “Out of the Box Thinking for Sheep Producers” and Henry Zerby, OSU meats specialist, motivational speaker and humorist will lead the group on the “Lighter Side of Mutton-Bustin.”
One of this year’s program highlights include the Sheep Youth Knowledge College, this program is aimed primarily at youth that produce sheep as 4-H and FFA projects.
Schedule. The symposium will begin with registration at 8 a.m. Dec. 11 with the program beginning at 9 a.m. at The Ohio State University Marion Campus, Morrill Hall.
The campus is located at 1465 Mt. Vernon Ave., just west of state Route 23 in Marion.
Details. To save money, pre-register for the symposium by Nov. 30.
