AgriNews reports that Western Illinois University’s School of Agriculture is not only nationally recognized, but also provides assistance to area farmers through their organic research farm. Herbicides are one area of focus for the school, while plans are being made to further develop the program.
From AgriNews:
“The School of Agriculture was the recipient last fall of a $490,000 grant from the university. That money will be used to build a greenhouse complex to serve as both an educational tool for students and local and regional ag producers, but also as a research and resource center.”
