MILLERSBURG, Ohio – More than 100 quilts and furniture items will highlight the seventh annual Bureau of Children with Medical Handicap fund-raising auction July 5.
The auction will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Kidron Auction grounds, Kidron, Ohio.
“The Amish community has supported the bureau with more than 100 quilts,” said sale spokesman Bob Graber.
The sale lineup includes quilts, wallhangings, rockers, dry sinks, gun cabinets, tables, chairs and other furniture items.
Horses, harnesses and buggies are also on the sale bill, along with smaller craft items and yard and shop tools.
Proceeds from the auction and food stands help pay medical expenses for Ohio’s handicapped children.
Helping children. Founded in 1919, the Bureau of Children with Medical Handicap first focused on providing funds for children with orthopedic problems. Today, it has expanded its focus to support many kinds of medical expenses for needy children – both “English” and Amish – throughout Ohio.
The sale begins at 9:30 a.m., with the quilts, wallhangings and horses starting at 11 a.m.
