Early planting brought early harvest for many
WOOSTER, Ohio — 2010 brought a great harvest season to grain farmers across the region.
The best weather patterns, combined with an early planting, brought an early harvest to farmers.
Buckeye State. In Ohio, the corn yield was up, while soybean and winter what yields were down, following a year plagued by high amounts of vomitoxin and head scab.
Growers were expected to harvest 3.38 million acres for grain in 2010, 240,000 acres more than in 2009.
