SALEM, Ohio — The Beck’s Young Farm Leader program is a partnership between the Ohio Soybean Association and Beck’s Hybrids that recognizes young farmers who demonstrate hard work, dedication and leadership in their industry.
The award is in its second year and recognizes four quarterly recipients each year. From the four, one “farm leader of the year” is named, who receives a trip for two to the annual Commodity Classic.
Requirements
Applicants do not need to be Beck’s customers, but must be members of the Ohio Soybean Association at the time of application.
Applicants must be between 21 and 45, and should demonstrate an interest in pursuing leadership roles within the soybean industry.
The winner of the first quarter award in 2014 was Ryan Rhoades, of Marion County. The deadline for applicants to be considered for the second quarter is May 1.
