CARROLLTON, Ohio — Garner Auctioneers, LLC held an auction of 34 firearms and 73 pieces of Nazi items, 3 Civil War items and two mid-1800s coins from a retired collector Nov. 18.
The highlight of the evening was a custom-made Sharpes mini rifle, 17 cal. fitted with a Montana Vintage scope. The stock and forearm was made of Presentation grade Baston walnut wood. This was one of 100 manufactured. It sold for $4,800.
The second highlight of the evening was a Merkel Model 147EL 20 ga. double bbl with luxury wood, which sold for $4,200. The gun came with a fitted gun case.
A Wildley sold for $1,850 while an 1842 and a 1845 seated Liberty silver dollar sold for $380 each. Eight confederate uniform buttons and a 1856 Charleston servant slave tag sold for $180 each.
A Civil War bowie knife marked “Palmetto Armory 1861 sold for $500.00. A German WWII Army 75 tank assault badge marked “JFS” sold for $250 and a German WWII Frie Brigade & Knights Cross sold for $120 each.
