CARROLLTON, Ohio — Garner Auctioneers, LLC, held its third annual porcelain-tin advertising auction with 319 lots selling.
The auction was a great success. An 8-by-8 foot New Idea sign brought $1200, a 1940s Packard lighted clock went for $1,025 and a 3-by-8 foot Popsicle sign went to a bidder for $500.
A tin Heinz homestyle soup sign sold for $400, a porcelain Bucyrus Erie Hydrocrane sign for $400, a tin Fisk time to re-tire sign sold at $225 and a cardboard Super Premium Keystone sign went for $90.
A lighted neon Shell clock sold for $850, Phillips 1950 gas pump reached $1,250, a New Idea tabletop brochure holder sold at $500 and a Socony Service Station (Standard Oil Co.) two-sided porcelain sign with some rusted area sold for $525.
A rare lighted John Deere lawn and garden sign sold for $310, a never used, lighted IH sales and service brought $1,000 and a porcelain, one-sided “Staroline Gas is Better” sign went for $350.
