BRADENVILLE, Pa. — Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture Farm-Based Education will present Beef Butchery for Farmers and Chefs Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Bradenville, Pa.

Topics

In this workshop, held at the John and Sukey Jamison’s certified USDA-certified processing plant, attendees will learn the intricacies of beef butchery, as the Jamisons and their butchers break down a side of beef into the major cuts.

Participants will take home five pounds of an assortment of prepared cuts of grass-fed beef to cook at home.

This workshop provides the opportunity to learn more about grass-fed beef, butchering and quality cuts of meat.

PASA members and students pay $100, which includes lunch. A Membership & Field Day Combo is $125. When you purchase an individual PASA membership by selecting this option, you are automatically registered for this field day.

Presenters

The Jamisons have been raising grass-fed lambs on Jamison Farm in western Pennsylvania for more than 30 years. They own and operate a USDA inspected plant where they process their lamb and produce various lamb products such as soup, stews, and lamb sausages that are shipped nationwide.
