CARLISLE, Pa. — Benjamin Shughart, 2010-2011 Pennsylvania FFA Chaplain, will serve a two-year term as FFA’s representative to the Pennsylvania Young Farmers Association executive board.
A 2010 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, Shughart was selected as FFA Chaplain in June. He is a state proficiency award winner in sheep production, and has earned the Greenhand, Chapter and Keystone degrees. The son of Robert and Deborah Shughart, Shughart is a member of Cumberland Valley FFA and has been chapter reporter, chapter vice president and area secretary.

ANDOVER, Ohio — The Pymatuning Valley FFA chapter held its July meeting to prepare for the Ashtabula County Fair.
Each member of the FFA was required to create a supervised agricultural experience for the fair.
Thirty-five members attended the meeting. At the meeting, the students discussed and planned the summer events.
July 2 through July 4, FFA members worked parking cars at the antique engine grounds. July 3 a pie auction was held, and made $1,000 from sales and donations.
The following members represented the Pymatuning Valley FFA chapter by attending the Ohio Leadership Camp July 9-12: Erin Smolinski, Tricia Lautanen, Stephanie Mason, Kayla Shreves, Ethan Crawford, Bo Shreves, Tyler Gruskiewicz, and Anthony Montello.
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — July 9, the Zane Trace FFA officers met at the high school to plan the chapter’s activities for the upcoming 2010/2011 school year.
The officers divided into groups to create a mission statement for the chapter, and determine measurable goals.
FFA activities including meetings, conventions, competitions, work-days and a service learning project were planned.
The students also discussed the responsibilities of their offices and made plans for the chapter’s display at the Ross County Fair.
