SHREVE, Ohio — Gary E. Maguire, 55, of Shreve, died May 22, 2010, in Ritchie County, W.Va., from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.
He was born Jan. 20, 1955, in Youngstown to Edward and Madeline (Raykovich) Maguire and married Susan Ann Myers Sept. 6, 1980 in Salem, Ohio.
He was a 1973 graduate of Canfield High School and received his agronomy degree from Ohio State University. He was general manager of the Wooster Equity for several years and was employed at Agland Co-op in Fresno for many years up until the present time.
Mr. Maguire was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Wayne County Farm Bureau, GAR LLC, and was a past member of the Shreve Lions Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jacob Maguire of Shreve; daughter Sarah Maguire of Cincinnati; his father Edward Maguire; a brother, Randall Maguire of Simi Valley, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Madeline.
Services were held May 26 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in McZena with Rev. John Furno officiating.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family, in care of Schlabach Funeral Home, 212 Jones St., P.O. Box 501, Shreve, OH 44676 so the family can direct gifts to various wildlife charities in Gary’s memory.
