Hazard A Guess: Week of Jan. 7, 2010

Hello from Hazard, and Happy New Year. We hope you ate your pork and sauerkraut (or greens, or whatever, depending on where you live) for good luck on the first day of the new year. We’re still eating leftovers, so we’re hoping that brings extra luck.

If you reach back in your memory to before the Christmas holiday, our last Hazard-ous item was Item No. 878, which had lingered for several weeks.

Ed Geiwitz from West Middlesex, Pa., hazard-ed that it might be a Christmas card holder and we also heard from Cat Franks, of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., that it is a rack for toast (they use them in England, I guess).

Whatever it is, we might never know, because it’s time to move on in the new year.

On to Item No. 879, which was part of a display created by Dennis Hevener at the Fort Henry Days at Oglebay park in Wheeling, W.Va., last summer. Care to hazard a guess as to its use?
