COLUMBUS — The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association is presenting a cover crops workshop Sept. 15, which will feature technical presentations and hands-on activities.
The program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster.
Instructors include Dr. John Cardina, Alan Sundermeier and Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program educator Andy Clark.
The workshop will cover: the benefits of cover crops; how to choose a cover crop; how to use cover crops to build soil fertility; and how to manage insects, disease, and weeds with cover crops.
Based on book
The workshop presentations will be based on Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education’s recently released book, Managing Cover Crops Profitably: Third Edition.
The first 75 people to register for the workshop will receive a free lunch and a free copy of the new 244-page book.

This workshop is free and open to the public, though pre-registration is recommended to reserve a meal and a copy of the book.
