LISBON, Ohio — Columbiana County 4-H has established a camping program open to all youth 8-14, sponsored and run by the Extension staff.
The camp, located in Windsor, Ohio, in Ashtabula County offers many programs for campers such as shooting sports, swimming, canoeing, crafts and outdoor education.
Counselors and staff come from the 4-H program.
This year’s camp is centered on a cruise theme and many theme-related activities are planned.
Camp will run from June 14-19 at a cost of $225 per camper. Registrations should be turned in by May 15 for early bird registration and not later than May 28 for all others.
Early bird registration cost is $200 per camper.

BARNESVILLE, Ohio — The Barnesville Progressive Home Helpers held a meeting March 14 at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Barnesville.
The club worked on community service projects and the newspaper recycling project. Members are encouraged to bring newspapers to the meetings.
The next meeting will be April 11 at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Barnesville.
NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — Milkmakers 4-H club held its meeting March 23 at Jerusalem Church with 27 members present and two new members Curtis Sigrest and Lauren Powell.
The club has put together a decorating committee with Tyler Gaskill as head chairman.
Demos were done by Clarissa Mutti on the digestive tract of a cow and Clark Mutti on the nutrients of milk.
Adviser Jared Harding did the program on Hoard’s Dairy Breed Judging.
Next meeting is April 13 at Jerusalem Church.
Demos will be presented by C.J. Lanzer, Chris Finton, Kurt Finton, Ryan Powell and Lauren Powell.
CARROLLTON, Ohio — The Kangaroo Krew 4-H club met March 20 at the Mechanicstown Church with 13 members in attendance.
The club discussed dues and the 4-H fee and having their community service at 5 p.m. April 3 at the Mechanicstown Church.
Members also decided on a bowling party and getting new shirts because of the many new members.
Demonstrations included playing corn hole by Frank Clubbs; rabbit tattooing by Wilbur Weaver; proper stretching for sports by Kyle Host; making nutritious lunches by Eliza Days; tying a shoe by Emmy Days; planting seeds and fire hazards by Floyd Craft.
The next meeting will be at 5 p.m. April 3 at the Mechanicstown Church.
Members will work on community service and project books.
CARROLLTON, Ohio — The Augusta Ranchers 4-H club met March 10 with eight members present.
Members brought drawings for the milk can contest and voted on two to represent the club.
They discussed the upcoming bake sale at Falconer’s Auction, 2009 rule changes, county frozen food and cookie dough sales and signed amendments to the club constitution.
Health and safety talks were given by Parker Snode on gangs and Madison Snode on drug and alcohol prevention.
Safety Officer Logan Snode presented his safety program and assigned talks to be given by members.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 14 at the Brown Frame Community Center where members will receive their project books and club notebooks and a T-shirt design contest will be held for the club shirt.
CARROLLTON, Ohio — The All American Kids 4-H club met March 18 at the Carroll Health Care Center with 21 members in attendance.
Members discussed officer training, which will be held in April; the frozen food sale and the May 2 and May 30 blood drives from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
Quality Assurance will be at 7 p.m. April 20 in the CHS. Anyone taking an animal must attend.
Health and safety talks were given by Morgan Spahr on sewing safety; Mercedes Claypool on tractor pulling safety and Bryan Carrick on all about shingles.
The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. April 15 at the Carroll Health Care Center. Members will give demonstrations and talk about books.
CARROLLTON, Ohio —The East Township Young Producers 4-H club met March 18 at St. John’s Hall with 23 members attending.
Members read the Blue Book, discussed the frozen food sale and set the date for the annual trash pick-up.
Members will meet at 2 p.m. April 26 at the Bryan residence for the trash pick-up.
The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. April 15 at St. John’s Hall.
JEFFERSON, Ohio — The Prime Bovine 4-H club met Feb. 29.
Members discussed the way they will be putting together their buyers thank yous.
The club sold pizza kits and the top two sellers were rewarded with gift cards.
Members focused on their quality assurance.
The Northern Classic animal show is coming up and many members will be attending.
THOMPSON, Ohio — The Thompson Ledge Dairymen 4-H club held its first meeting Feb. 22, welcoming 22 members.
The first order of business was to elect new officers, which include Emma Niehus, president; Jake Lausin, vice president; Elise Bruening, secretary; Matt Bruening, treasurer; Audrey Buterbaugh, news reporter; Katie Bruenin, health; Brian Depner, safety; Mike Depner, recreation; Kevin Snyder, Megan Hartman and Lucas Kuehn, communication and Bobby Fowler, Adam Lausin and Kyle LaRosa, refreshments.
Corrections of the constitution were voted on.
A second meeting was held March 15. Club T-shirts and fundraisers were discussed.
The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. April 19 at the Montville Community Center.
Members are asked to bring paper products for the local food bank at the Thompson United Methodist Church.
