NEWARK, Ohio — The Muskingum, Perry and Licking county offices of Ohio State University Extension will offer “East Central Small Farm College,” a nine-week course which will provide an opportunity to explore enterprise possibilities on small acreage.

The course will also look at budgeting, informational and technical resources, developing a business plan after assessing personal, family and land resources.
The classes will be held Thursday evenings starting Jan. 22 through March 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Muskingum County Extension office, 225 Underwood St., Room 6, Zanesville.
Classes will cover Getting Started in Managing Rural Property, Goal Setting Business Planning and Budgeting as well as programs and local resources that are available.
Critical issues
Assessing your land, legal issues, financial management and record keeping will be critical issues addressed. Exploring various farm enterprises and marketing alternatives will be included.
A Saturday tour of local farms will be included in the program. A reference notebook will be provided to each participant.
