GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Dairywomen who attend the seventh annual Great Lakes Regional Dairy Conference will find a variety of topics at this year’s Partners Program.
The conference, of which the Partners Program is a part, will be held Feb. 5-7 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, 28th Street, Grand Rapids.
Speaker
Guest speaker Amanda Nolz, an agricultural communications student at South Dakota State University, will offer two presentations, CSI: Activist Chants, the Mythical Media and Confused Consumers and The Future of Ag: Where Did the Young People Go?
Nolz will also hold a session for the youth on Saturday, Youth in Agriculture: The Future is Bright!, during the breed association programming portion of the conference.
Hummingbird experts
Kathi and Mike Rock, self-taught hummingbird experts, will be on hand to share what they have learned about hummingbirds over the past 20 years and offer tips on how to create a habitat in your backyard.
Staci Garcia, coordinator of public and member relations for the United Dairy Industry of Michigan, and Sara Long, communications manager for the animal agriculture and animal welfare and behavior initiatives at Michigan State University, will conduct the session, Social Media 101: What You Wanted to Know but Were Afraid to Ask.
