BARNESVILLE, Ohio — The Barnesville Progressive Home Helper met Oct. 11 at the Main Street United Methodist Church.
Officers were elected and the club made plans for the 2008-09 4-H year.
The next meeting will be held Nov. 8 at the church.
CORTLAND, Ohio — The Trumbull 4-H program will participate in the 2008 Make a Difference Day Oct. 25.
4-H members from across Trumbull County will make wheelchair/walker bags from 9 a.m. to noon at the OSU Extension office, 520 W. Main St., Cortland.
The bags will be donated to an organization to be determined by the participants during the workshop.
Attendees do not need to know how to sew. There will be activities which do not include sewing, such as cutting out patterns and attaching ties to the bags.
Anyone interested in helping and making a difference may attend.
Participants may bring their own sewing machine.

HOOKSTOWN, Pa. — Four members and six horses from the Silver Spurs 4-H Club qualified for the Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show Oct. 24-26 in Harrisburg.
Members include Amber Mitchell with Zack, trail pony, novice reining and large pony western pleasure; Amber Mitchell with Storm, three year Appaloosa Gelding halter and three year hunter under saddle futurity; Angela Dykes with Ego, hunter hack horse; Angela Dykes with Cody, yearling Quarter Horse filly halter; Ainsley Berringer with Sugar, large pony western pleasure; and LeighAnn Fisher with Chico, small pony hunter under saddle.
