WOOSTER, Ohio — Morning Star Fiber is hosting an educational fiber forum for alpaca owners Nov. 15 at the Shisler Conference Center on the campus of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, 1680 Madison Ave. in Wooster from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost for the event is $35 per person.

This year’s focus will be recognizing a sustainable and profitable alpaca fiber market at the cottage industry level.
Presenters at this year’s forum include: Sen. Ron Amstutz, Wini Labrecque, Julie Ganim, Bob Danielson, JoAnn White, Angie Dapore and J.C. Christensen.
Topics presented include: the Julie Ganim Collection, determining the best end use of your fleeces, House Bill 352 and implications for alpaca farming, motivations behind shearing with end products in mind, skirting/sorting for highest return on processing, niche marketing, blends that add value, fiber pool vs. fiber co-op and finished product development.
