Pictured is Harvey Crawford sitting on his first tractor and holding his oldest daughter, Joan, in 1944. The tractor had been delivered that day — all work had been done with a team of horses up to this point.
The farm was originally purchased in 1817 and Jeff Leindecker, who submitted the photo, is the seventh continuous generation farming the land. Leindecker owns and operates what is left of the farm, in Ohio Township, ten miles north of Pittsburgh.
